Our History
Momentum Equipment Services was born in 2006 as an side business to Thwaites Diesel Nelson to provide greater levels of service and sole focus on materials handling equipment across the “Top of the South”.
Momentum Equipment Services is owned by Graeme Thwaites and Nick Cairney in partnership.
Our Service Philosophy
Momentum’s philosophy is to provide and maintain high quality assured client/customer support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Momentum Equipment offers a full suite of services including new & used forklift equipment, equipment servicing, spare parts, training, long and short term forklift rental options, maintenance, lease and testing. Forklift tyre replacements and forklift accessories.
All our forklift services are backed by our professional and qualified team of dedicated employees, including technical resources across the Asia-Pacific enabling us to meet all of our customer needs.
Momentum also operates a Traction Battery Division that provides maintenance, repairs, testing, desulphating and leasing of batteries for our battery electric forklift customers.

The primary objective of the NZFIA is to promote the best and safest practices for those involved in operating and maintaining Forklifts in New Zealand.
